We always enjoy introducing our chickens at U-pick time. It’s a treat for our U-pickers to reach under a chicken and find a warm egg! These kids did a great job and so appreciated our hens. Thanks for the memories Christian Blank, Alexandria Blank and Katie Nestico!!
Our first day of U-Pick this year has been by far the busiest ever! Here are a few pictures of our happy pickers showing off organic dark and gold sweet cherries, tart cherries, and wildflowers. Thank you to everyone who made it a great day! Come join in on the continued fun all week – our happy dog Buddy is DYING to greet you! 🙂
Many of you know Buddy. I’m not sure that I’d say Buddy is the epitome of a farm dog but he definitely fits his role at North Star. He keeps the chickens in line, helps keep the varmints under control and is always excited to greet anyone who pulls into the yard. Buddy has it pretty good. He eats cherries off the trees at his leisure (true story!!). Sometimes he’s naughty like when he chases and EATS BEES!! Sometimes you catch him looking up at birds in the air. I know he’s thinking “how can I catch that dang bird?!” Here he is wrapping up the day in the “pollinator habitat” which is filled with beautiful wild flowers.
